What In The Name of Nazi Propaganda Is Going On Here?

People curious about what a small town fascist government looks like need not look any further than the Town of Monroe.

It’s hard to tell which local government is more corrupt: The Town of Monroe or the Village of South Blooming Grove.

With The Village of South Blooming Grove, there’s a plan. You and I may not like the plan because of its environmental impact for all residents of Southern Orange County.

(Reminder: The Planet is on fire.)

The plan may involve a lot of illegality, such as intentionally not enforcing the federal Fair Housing Act.

But there’s a plan.

There’s a vision.

Two, maybe:

Vision 1: Merge South Blooming Grove with Kiryas Joel / Palm Tree into the City of Kiryas Joel. We’ve seen this explained in the pages of The KJ Weekly, where the combined municipalities are referred to as The City of Kiryas Joel.

Vision 2: A man named Avrum ber Jakobwitz is alleged to be funding Mr. Stern and Mr. Ekstein’s operations in order to perform a land grab for Rebbe Zalman Teitelbaum. Basically, this is being done to dick over Zalman’s brother, Rebbe Aaron Teitelbaum. The idea being that Blooming Grove is bigger than KJ and controlling it will choke off Aaron’s power in the area.

Regardless of which version is the real plan, Hanhallah (Aaron and Zalman Teitelbaum) would like to build a city, and you (Monroe, Woodbury, Blooming Grove residents) are in the way.

And to be clear: When I say residents, I mean ALL residents, haredi and not. There are many different kinds of haredi, and many of them come from New York City to enjoy the environment much like most of you reading this. They do NOT want a city that’s controlled by one religious leader over another. Especially one who will provide favoritism toward his worshipers at the exclusion of the other groups.

Now, let’s take a look at The Town of Monroe, where there is declining population, no plan, and no vision.

If I were to ask the Village of South Blooming Grove de facto mayors, Joel Stern and Isaac Ekstein, what SBG looks like in 50 years, they’d have an answer.

The Town of Monroe does not have an answer.

Instead, Town matters are handled in an arbitrary and capricious fashion based entirely on the whims of an ailing fascist dictator Town Supervisor, Tony Cardone.

Mr. Cardone has yet to disclose the nature of his health concerns with the public, but they may be significant enough where such a disclosure of them is warranted. There are specific types of medical treatments that are verifiably proven to affect the judgement and mental capacity of the people receiving them.

I get it. Getting old sucks. Getting sick sucks. Nobody wants to discuss this stuff.

But.

When you create a situation where you’re the dictator person running everything in a large town with many employees and constituents, as Mr. Cardone is, that one person needs to disclose whether or not they’re capable of doing so.

If the Supervisor is mentally or physically impaired in some way, that should have been disclosed a long time ago to the public.

And yet, the public hasn’t heard anything about this.

But that’s par for the course in the Town of Monroe.

The public only hears or knows what Supervisor Cardone wants them to hear, and that was on full display at the June 17th, 2024 Town of Monroe Board meeting.

Normal Republicans Vs. Fascists

For those of you just joining us, there are five members on the Town Board. Mary Bingham and Maureen Richardson are the Democrats. Dorey Houle, Sal Scancarello, and Tony Cardone are the Republicans.

But we’re not talking normal Republicans here, which many of you reading this may be. Hello! I was a Republican until I heard the words “weapons of mass destruction.” But that’s a story for another time.

Normal Republicans may have disagreements with their Democrat counterparts, but there’s little to any bullshit that goes down between them. Aside from, at worst, partisan sniping in time for election season.

That’s just par for the course in America going back to the founding of this nation. In fact, the third presidential election is where negative campaigning got its start.

Normal Republicans may not even like their friends across the aisle, but they do find common ground and attempt to work together.

Fascists don’t.

A fascist political platform is what you see in Monroe and South Blooming Grove: The decisions are already made, the truth is what we tell you it is, and anyone who says otherwise is a hater of some kind. A “socialist” or in SBG, an “antisemite.”

Cooperation has not happened, at all, in Monroe since Councilwoman Richardson took office on the back of 1,600+ votes by Town residents. And this was evident almost on Day 1 with Cardone’s liaison assignments.

Normal Republicans make an effort to work with Democrats.

Fascists don’t.

Meet The Fascists

Supervisor Tony Cardone and Dorey Houle are, verifiably, not normal Republicans.

After congressional candidate, and former NYS assemblyman Colin Schmitt got on a bus bound for the Capitol on January 6th to “rally the troops”, Supervisor Cardone supported the pro-insurrectionist assemblyman in a statement to The Chronicle:

“Assemblyman Colin Schmitt is a friend and a leader of integrity. The Orange County Democratic Party should be ashamed of themselves for their statements. These claims are entirely false and must be rejected. Attacks on local private Orange County citizens by the Democratic Party set a new standard of lowest of the low. Thank you, Colin Schmitt, for your continued leadership.”

What leadership is Mr. Cardone talking about here?

You mean the kind Mr. Schmitt was espousing on that bus, telling potential capital rioters that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen?

(Note: I didn’t say they DID storm the capital. I’m just saying the potential was there for them to so as participants of the rally. The people on those buses, to this day, swear they did not even make it to the rally due to traffic. This claim is hard to believe given that Colin Schmitt spoke to them at 4:30am, and Washington D.C., at worst, is 6 hours away. At best, it’s just under 5.

Worse case scenario with traffic, that puts the bus in Washington at eleven AM, an hour before Trump started speaking. Mr. Trump would not finish speaking until 1:10pm.

Anyway …

Councilwoman Dorey Houle, can be seen in this video actively going door to door with pro-insurrectionist Colin Schmitt. In fact, while Houle struggled to raise money during her first run for the NYS Senate, Colin Schmitt’s PAC donated $1,000 to her.

So, putting aside that Supervisor Cardone spoke in favor of a pro-insurrectionist candidate, and Dorey Houle campaigned with him and took his money, what else should you know about our duly elected fascists?

-Mrs. Dorey Houle is running an antisemitic dog whistle campaign for the New York State Senate.

-Mr. Cardone, has again, and again, and again, and again lied to the public on all matters big and small.

This includes at last night’s meeting, where Mr. Cardone told the public that the State Troopers were witnesses to an incident between Councilman Scancarello and Councilwoman Muareen Richardson.

A source close to the State Police has refuted Mr. Cardone’s claim, stating that had they seen Mr. Scancarello shoulder charge Mrs. Richardson, they would have arrested him immediately.

They also stated, that had they witnessed Mrs. Richardson doing anything wrong, they would have arrested her as well. As Mrs. Richardson stated, she got into an argument with Jennifer Schnaars, things got heated.

As Councilwoman Richardson claims, she tried to exit the conversation, and that’s when Councilman Sal Scancarello violently assaulted her.

Consider, that Mr. Scancarello likely far outweighs Councilwoman Richardson.

Now imagine a grown ass man ramming his elbow into a much smaller woman, and then claim he didn’t do so. This is what happens in video captured at the event and reviewed by The Monroe Gazette.

We don’t see the impact of Councilman Scancarello hitting the Councilwoman.

We do see the immediate aftermath, and Councilman Scancarello denying doing so . A claim he doubled down on during last night’s meeting.

So, again, another lie from Cardone. Considering he has already been caught lying to the police once already this year, it’ll be interesting to see what he shares with the troopers, if anything, when they investigate.

That’s the version of events shared with the public by the Supervisor, much like how fascist politicians operate by only sharing news that makes them look good and all their enemies look bad.

So what about the assault?

Councilman Sal Scancarello charged Councilwoman Richardson in the chest with his elbow.

This is fact, no matter what Councilman Scancarello says.

Mrs. Richardson later went to the emergency room in order to receive treatment after being assaulted. She filed a police report with the State police, and she has pressed charges against Mr. Scancarello.

Due to the injuries sustained by Mr. Scancarello’s assault, Councilwoman Richardson was not present at last night’s meeting, and not able to defend herself from the fascist clown show that unfolded.

This included a resolution where, if Councilwoman Richardson wants to work on behalf of her constituents on Town Property, she has to get approval from Supervisor Cardone first. (Councilwoman Richardson has stated that, after the meeting, this rule was adjusted to just two spots at Town Hall.)

This farce also included a resolution where, any communication with Town consultants (which covers a wide range of people including the Town Attorney and grant writing consultants, Millennium), would also need to go through the Supervisor.

Supervisor Cardone, again, falsely claimed that he had received complaints from consultants such as Millennium concerning Councilwoman Richardson.

I have reached out a representative at Millennium to see what the truth is.

What do these two resolutions mean?

Despite popular support among voters, Councilwoman Richardson cannot (technically speaking) do anything without Supervisor Cardone’s permission.

These resolutions were passed by Cardone, Houle, and Scancarello while the Councilwoman was not there to defend herself. Objections concerning these resolutions by Councilwoman Bingham were ignored.

That’s not how a democracy works.

The Supervisor is not a dictator. The Supervisor is in charge of minding the money (which Cardone continues to fail at) and run the meetings.

Mr. Scancarello claims that he intervened in the dispute between Councilwoman Richardson and Jennifer Schnaars because he thought Maureen was going to hit Mrs. Schnaars.

What he didn’t state was that the argument stemmed from Mrs. Schnaars — who is Tony Cardone’s campaign treasurer as well as Town secretary — was alleged to have been forwarding Councilwoman Richardson’s HR complaints to Supervisor Cardone.

Mrs. Schnaars is the point of contact for HR matters in the Town of Monroe. Shedid not respond to requests for comment on this matter.

What Mr. Scancarello also failed to mention was that he has twice been accused of behaving inappropriately and rudely toward other town officials and other parties at public events.

The most recent example before his assault on Mrs. Richardson was a campaign of verbal harassment waged against Village Trustee, John Karl. The harassment stemmed from a verbal altercation between Karl and Scancarello and Cardone at a public event.

United Monroe’s Mike Egan, a recent Dorey Houle donor, sits on the Ethics Board. So do other United Monroe members, who helped create Supervisor Cardone and shepard him into office. When John Karl’s ethics complaint was reviewed by the Town of Monroe Ethics Board, they basically gave Karl the human equivalent of the shruggie emoji.

Mr. Scancarello said at last night’s meeting, “I got upset. Did I physically do anything to her? Absolutely not. Insane.” (Emphasis added.)

The police report says otherwise.

The trip to the emergency room says otherwise.

The criminal charges say otherwise.

But Councilman Scancarello fits right in with someone running an antisemitic state campaign, and a compulsive liar.

Let’s not forget the Town Clerk, who once Supervisor Cardone faced questions concerning the property he owns at Lake Sapphire, intentionally violated NYS FOIL Laws with a 90 Day blanket response policy to all FOILS.

Or the Highway Superintendent who was credibly accused of sexual harassment.

Or the Town Attorney making financial contributions to the Town Supervisor creating a direct conflict of interest in matters involving his political rivals.

That’s the Town of Monroe.

It’s a portrait of America under Trumpism: The corrupt, guilty, and inept fascists run everything. Enriching themselves at YOUR expense.

What other crowd would try to spin a grown ass man assaulting a 145-pound woman by blaming the victim?

Well, a Short Term Rental was on the agenda for last night’s meeting.

It happened to be right near where Supervisor Cardone, and Ethics Board Member, Mike Egan, live.

Mrs. Diane Egan, Mr. Mike Egan’s wife, spoke at the meeting.

She’s a former United Monroe member as well.

Wouldn’t you know it, the short term rental that would have impacted the Egans and Mr. Cardone got rejected and tossed in a single night.
