Op-Ed: Here's How to Evict MAGA Nazis from Office
Today we look at a local Planning Board member spreading MAGA Disinformation, how that could violate their oath of office in NYS, and maybe even the Constitution's 14th Amendment.
MAGA is a Nazi movement. If there’s any doubt, let’s dispel that right now.
That’s the actual President of the United States, Elon Musk, giving what his daughter described as “definitely a Nazi salute.”
Now here’s Vice President JD Vance — funded and created by Elon Musk’s billionaire buddy, Peter Thiel — meeting with the AfD party in Germany and cuddling up with a party with deep anti-semitic history while verbally attacking our allies. (Mr. Thiel, who we should note is also a large donor to Congressman Pat Ryan, has also met with White Supremacists to coordinate support for Trump’s first campaign.)
Here is Elon Musk's whale barnacle, Donald Trump, and a timeline of his own antisemitic history.
And lastly, here is further documentation of the MAGA movement’s antisemitism.
So, I want to reiterate a point I’ve made this week: If you identify as MAGA, you are probably a Nazi.
You may disagree, and that’s ok. But I think the evidence here is clear.
Note: I did not say being a Republican is being a Nazi. There are plenty of Republicans right now who do not like or agree with what President Musk is doing. We’re not talking about all Republicans here. Don’t be silly.
Today, we’re just talking about people who self-identify as part of the MAGA movement. The ones with their “cool” hats, Teslas, and make Facebook posts like these:
Pictured above: Woodbury Village Planning Board member Tom DeLuca spreading MAGA propaganda. You should know that President Zelensky has thanked America and its leaders 33 times since his country was invaded by America’s new best friend, Vladimir Putin. Trump and the MAGA movement have repeatedly referred to Zelensky as a “dictator” (not true), that Ukraine started the war with Russia (not true), and that much of the funding provided to Ukraine “went missing.” Nope. Not true either.
I don’t know about you, but if I was a Woodbury resident? I’d have serious concerns about Mr. DeLuca’s ability to render fair and objective decisions as a member of the Village Planning Board. Especially if he thinks the liberal members of his community, including those on Woodbury’s Climate Smart Task Force, “Don’t care about the environment” but only care about “control.”
Also: Given the large Haredi population we have in our area, I’d also be concerned about members of any local Planning Board loudly associating themselves with a movement that is clearly a Nazi movement.
Here’s what I do know:
There are 10 or so extremely online MAGA Dolts in Woodbury. Another 15-20 in Monroe. Thousands and thousands more across America.
The good news is, they don’t represent us. This is a tiny, very online, minority of people.
The even better news is that they’re easy to spot because of how online they are.
My personal favorite is the MAGA lady in the Preserve Monroe Group who told me Project 2025 was written by an AI and that Donald Trump has nothing to do with it.
Here in Southern Orange County, the 30 of them all respond to posts countering their Nazi propaganda, usually using the HaHa emoji on Facebook. While we can’t publish their names for legal reasons, we CAN encourage you to see how certain people respond to posts that counter the MAGA narrative with this Facebook reaction.
If they’re using the haha emoji to respond to posts, like for example, ones about helping seniors protect their Social Security benefits from Musk? Guess what? They’re probably a Nazi. You should note who these people are and boycott everything they do, own, and have to offer.
We can also tell you that when you see someone from the MAGA crowd posting disinformation, there is an appropriate response. You can copy and paste the following. Just replace the name in the example with their name:
“(Insert Name) supports cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Veterans Benefits.
Copy and paste that sentence and then turn off your notifications for the post.
The MAGA people, despite calling their enemies snowflakes, are the softest people on Earth.
They will hilariously melt down every single time you say this to them.
For too long, this crowd thought they would be immune from the consequences of their God King’s actions. Those days are over.
Don’t argue with them.
Don’t reply to their posts.
There’s no point. You will not win. The fever will not break.
This is who they are.
And the first step toward defeating MAGA is acknowledging what you’re dealing with. And what you’re dealing with is …
An Insurrection
I know. It’s a big word. But let’s check real quick and see if President Musk and Trump’s actions meet the definition of an insurrection. What’s that? They do?
Thanks for confirming the insurrection, JD! We hope Glen Close comes back to play your disappointed “Mawmaw” in the sequel.
The second Trump started defying court orders, that was it. That was the red line that took us from political disagreement over shitty things to insurrection.
But there’s good news. Because now that we can formally acknowledge Musk, Trump, Vance, and all their creepy MAGA Nazi friends are engaged in insurrection, we can take action.
The 14th Amendment of the Constitution was built for this moment. It says specifically:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.
And you should know that you don’t need to have committed a crime to be disqualified from office under the Insurrection Clause.
According to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington:
Historical precedent also confirms that a criminal conviction is not required for an individual to be disqualified under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment. No one who has been formally disqualified under Section 3 was charged under the criminal “rebellion or insurrection” statute (18 U.S.C. § 2383) or its predecessors. This fact is consistent with Section 3’s text, legislative history, and precedent, all of which make clear that a criminal conviction for any offense is not required for disqualification. Section 3 is not a criminal penalty, but rather is a qualification for holding public office in the United States that can be and has been enforced through civil lawsuits in state courts, among other means"
So, yes. I know. The Supreme Court in Trump V. Anderson said that Congress has to invoke the 14th Amendment regarding federal office holders. Well, it’s a good thing mass action is being planned on April 5th then, isn’t it? Because that’s what it’s going to take: Mass action. The kind that forces a full commitment from every Democrat, and just two Republicans, to remove Trump, Vance, and all their creepy MAGA friends from power.
This is how you stop them.
And not just the guys at the top. I encourage you to start combing through all of your local and state elected official’s social media feeds. And the people who reply with the laughing emoji to anti-MAGA posts. Out ‘em all.
Because if they’re posting stuff like Mr. DeLuca? They may be in direct violation of their oath of office by supporting MAGA and spreading its disinformation.
Each elected official in New York State, for example, has to take an oath before assuming their role. And that oath starts with, “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the constitution of the United States, and the constitution of the State of New York.”
You cannot be MAGA and support the Constitution. The evidence that MAGA is engaged in insurrection is clear and will become increasingly so over the next few weeks and months.
And that evidence suggests that supporting MAGA, explicitly by spreading its misinformation, for example, concerning President Zelensky, provides aid and comfort to the enemy (Trump, Musk, Vance.)
How? Because if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. And it’s Trump/Musk/Vance’s truth, not reality.
You’re entitled to your own opinion but not your own reality. Facts are facts.
Authoritarian movements thrive on controlling information. So, spreading their disinformation provides “aid and comfort” to an authoritarian movement.
Mr. DeLuca is lucky I’m not a Woodbury resident. If I was, I would sue the Village because his spreading of MAGA propaganda is providing aid and comfort to the enemy—something forbidden by the 14th Amendment.
And that by spreading this information to benefit MAGA’s leaders, Mr. DeLuca is violating his oath of office.
Maybe an enterprising Woodbury resident might want to take that legal theory for a spin. Maybe you might, too, with one of your local and state officials.
But I’ll tell you what: It’s not just Mr. DeLuca. All across America, there are plenty of people posting far worse on behalf of MAGA and its Nazi ideology.
I bet you can start knocking them out of office right quick on these 14th Amendment grounds.
And even if you lose, I promise you, this legal exercise will be more productive than doing nothing. We tried nothing. The current presidential administration was the result.
