Local MAGA Nazis Spread Fear In Monroe
The "Deport Illegals" graffiti is back, and then there's that little matter of a TikTok account targeting our Satmar neighbors with death threats.
Pictured Above: After being painted over late in 2024, the “Deport Illegals” graffiti has returned to the Village of Monroe. Anyone utilizing the bike trail can find this message at the trail's entrance on Mill Pond Parkway. Coincidentally, Monroe Town Board candidate, and MAGA Nazi, Tim Mitts is known to drink at the local bar in walking distance to this building. If he’s got time for drunk Facebook posts, who can say he doesn’t have time for a little hateful street art, too? I don’t know. I have as much evidence to say that as he does for anything that comes out of his mouth. Regardless, this seems like something the Village Police should look into. Convicted Felon Timothy Mitts, for the record, has not condemned this graffiti. Neither have Monroe Town Board members Sal Scanrello, Dorey Houle, and Tony Cardone. The Village of Monroe has loudly and emphatically stated to The Monroe Gazette, “There is no place for this kind of hate in our community.” As of this writing, they are actively working to address the graffiti you see in the image above.
So, the last time we spoke, I told you that MAGA needs to be eradicated from public life.
Then I went for a walk with my Dad around the Mill Ponds. During that walk, we saw this bullshit MAGA message had returned to the Village of Monroe.
That resulted in the following letter, which was sent to the Monroe Village Board last night:
Dear Mayor Dwyer and Our Village Trustees,
My family and I have utilized the Milpond dating back to the late 1980s. Over the last year or so, I’ve noticed a persistent spot of graffiti at the entrance to the bike trail, not far from the playground.
For a while, the graffiti read, “Deport Illegals.” Thanks to the efforts of the Village Building Department and Code Enforcement officials, this graffiti was painted over. So I want to thank the Village for its vigilance in removing this hateful message.
However, I want to note that the “Deport Illegals” graffiti message has returned—this time with the initials for the CECOT. I don’t think many people understand what those initials stand for, so I am writing this letter to help inform the Board and the community. It would seem that this hateful graffiti’s persistence is intentional and has now escalated.
I am calling on the Village Police to use their available resources to identify and hold the violators responsible to the fullest extent of the law. This isn’t simple graffiti. This is an incitement to violence during a fraught period in our nation’s history.*
As someone who has studied the Broken Windows Theory of Policing, I can assert—and I believe our men and women in uniform will agree—that allowing graffiti like this to persist will eventually lead to an escalation if it’s not stopped dead in its tracks.
CECOT stands for Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo. This is a prison in El Salvador that the Trump Administration signed a $6M contract with on March 15th to house people deported by the United States.
So the fact that the “Deport Illegals” message returned — alongside the name of the specific prison where they would be deported — indicates that the people responsible may know exactly what they’re doing. And that their intention is to spread fear and distrust among vulnerable members of our community.
We should not, and cannot, accept this. Regardless of how you got to Monroe, you are still a member of this community. Under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, as affirmed by the Supreme Court, you are still entitled to the rights and protections of the law, including due process. (See: Zadvydas v. Davisholds)
I will also point out that our local police often depend on the cooperation of members of our community who may not be here legally. Graffiti like this may inadvertently place all of us in danger. Put another way, if you allow messages endorsing deportation to proliferate, people here illegally aren’t exactly going to jump to talk to the people with the power to deport them.
So I’m going to speak to everyone’s economic self-interest. The Village of Monroe is investing considerable time, energy, and resources into revitalizing the downtown corridor and the Millponds. This includes new playground equipment, dredging of the ponds, and a new home for concerts that doesn’t require a mobile stage.
At the same time, the Village faces a looming threat from the Village of South Blooming Grove. If the warehouses are constructed as planned in Blooming Grove, South Blooming Grove's only path to expand is into the Village of Monroe. So, if you want to keep Monroe thriving, it must be a happy, safe, and welcoming place for all, including people who may be here under less-than-legal circumstances.
If I can’t persuade you on moral grounds, and I know there’s a chunk of our population that I can’t, let me appeal to you on these economic grounds.
If we allow hateful messaging to take root, and we allow an air of lawlessness to persist, people will not want to spend their money in our village. And given the growth of South Blooming Grove, that is an economic blow this Village will absolutely not survive.
For that reason—and I would hope for the usual boring moral ones that should need to go unsaid—the Village Board should act swiftly. If the property owner allows this hateful messaging to persist, they should be taken to court. The perpetrators should be arrested and charged to the maximum extent possible. We should also let our friends and neighbors know that they are welcome here.

*The Monroe Gazette has been in touch with multiple Village of Monroe officials about the graffiti, as well as Monroe Village Police Chief Darwin Guzman. If we hear back from Chief Guzman, we will update this section here and include a quote from him.
As of yesterday evening, we can report that the village is again in motion to address the graffiti.
Before We Move On …
I know a bunch of people will read this and say, “But they’re here ILLEGALLY!” To which, I want to say:
Don’t be pedantic. Technically speaking, if you live here in Orange County, you live on stolen land from the Lenape tribe. If you can find one of them, I dare you to try saying that you’re upset about someone living in your neighborhood without permission.
The United States has always, always, always, had strict laws concerning people here who are “undocumented” (if you prefer that term) that commit violent crimes. I know the MAGA Nazis likes to make a big theatrical production of how tough they are on immigration, but the truth is this: Very few people, myself included, believe people who commit violent crimes should be allowed to continue to live here. Nobody is saying, “Yeah. You can commit all the violent crimes you want without being deported!” NOBODY. Only MAGA Extremists say this about their opponents because, as we keep pointing out, these MAGA Nazis have nothing else to offer you—just paranoia and grievance. If you need an example of their paranoia, look carefully at how Woodbury Village Trustee Candidate, CJ Graziano, ended his letter. “You can be next!” No, dumbass. Maybe try being a better candidate so people in Woodbury don’t stay home, like they did in 2023 when you were last on the ballot. But CJ won’t try to be a better candidate because that’s not in MAGA’s DNA. Just take a look at what Tim Mitts is running on also. Here’s a convicted felon, suing the Town of Monroe for millions of dollars, telling you he’s prioritizing accountability and transparency. That’s MAGA in a nutshell.
CECOT is no joke. In fact, the Trump administration just “accidentally” deported a man who was here with legal permission. His name is Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The Trump administration repeatedly said, without any evidence, that Garcia was a member of an El Salvadoran gang. So, given that many people in the Southern Orange County make decisions based entirely on their self-interest, we should be clear about what just happened. The Trump team, whom a lot of you voted for, deported a guy — who was legally cleared to be here — on the entire basis of “Trust me, Bro.” Then, when questioned about what they were going to get him released, they shrugged their shoulders. You know what that is? Nazi shit. So when I say MAGA hats and Teslas are Nazi paraphenalia, I’m not kidding. This isn’t a joke. MAGA is a Nazi movement, and it needs to be eradicated from public life. Their graffiti must be removed. Anyone with a Trump sign in their store window should be boycotted. If you encounter one of these fools in the wild, tell their boss. If they’re on your Town Board or Planning Board? Throw their ass out of office. Use the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause if you must. Do everything you can peacefully, and without violence, to destroy this movement. Because if you don’t, you may find yourself one day in CECOT on the basis of “Trust me bro.” And good luck getting out of there.
And just a reminder, April 5th is approaching. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have signed up for a mass, peaceful protest. There are local events too, including in Warwick, Goshen, and Cornwall. Sign up to attend one, and get your ass off the Internet.
You will not post your way out of a coup.

What’s Up With Sal Scancarello’s Kid Targeting Jews?
I’ve been getting messages from Monroe Gazette readers about Sarha Ashkinazi. Mrs. Ashkinazi has made several claims concerning Monroe Town Board member Sal Scancarello and his son, Anthony Scancarello. Specifically, Mrs. Ashkinzai claims that Anthony Scancarello is following our Satmar brothers and sisters around and threatening to kill them on TikTok.
Not coincidentally, around the same time of these posts, Monroe Town Board candidate Tim Mitts has been loudly talking about Sal Scancarello and the charges of his assault on Councilwoman Richardson being dropped.
I don’t believe in coincidence. And also, Mitts is a dumbass. So if he’s saying something, it’s usually to distract from something else—typical MAGA behavior. That’s a trick you should remember about anything Mitts posts.
Since Anthony Scancarello is a minor, I’ve blurred his photo and some of the others from the TikTok account in question. After Mrs. Ashkinazi made these claims, the TikTok account was deleted.
The Monroe Gazette reached out to both Mrs. Ashkinazi and Sal Scancarello for comment about the TikTok videos. If we hear back from either of them, we will update this post.
I mention this here because Scancarello owns property in the Village of Monroe. You know, the one I just told you about that was having a problem with hateful graffiti being spray-painted on a building? I’m not saying these two stories are connected. But given that Mr. Scancarello’s property isn’t too far from the graffiti, if I was a police officer? I’d kick the tires and ask some questions. Just to say I covered all the angles.
This alleged hateful messaging on TikTok also tracks with the other Monroe Town Board members. Monroe Town Supervisor Tony Cardone has used his taxpayer-funded radio show on WTBQ to make anti-semitic remarks. You’ll note that, once again in this article, Mr. Scancarello’s partners, Dorey Houle and Tony Cardone, have made no comments or statements concerning this sort of hateful behavior.
As far as charges being dropped concerning Scancarello’s assault on Councilwoman Maureen Richardson, we’re glad Mitts brought that back up again. As is so often the case, he does a lot of our work for us—free advertising, ideas for what to post about because he’s not a smart man.
Our following post concerns Orange County District Attorney, David Hoovler. Currently running for re-election. Mr. Hoovler has decided not to charge both Woodbury Councilman, Brandon Calore, and Monroe Town Councilman Sal Scancarello. That doesn’t absolve them of their sins. It also doesn’t mean that the things they were arrested for didn’t happen. It just means David Hoovler is soft on crime.
And we have the picture to prove it.
glad to see that you are feeling better. next time you are ill, please let us know so that we don't make up other reasons for your inactivity.
THANK YOU
