Who Is Us Asia Global Inc. And Why Are They Buying Land on Lakes Road?
The import/export company is making big moves near the proposed site of the Henry Farms development on Camp Monroe Road.
Today, we’re going to do a deep dive into an LLC making some interesting moves on Lakes Road in both Chester and Monroe: Us Asia Global Inc.
There will be a lot of links. You don’t have to click on all of them. I just wanted to make sure everything was sourced properly and made easily accessible for those who want to learn more.
Now let’s get to it …
US Asia Global Inc. is registered as being based out of 1449 37th Street, Suite #612, in Brooklyn, New York. David Breier is listed as the CEO. Their Department of State issued ID is 4057304. The company is also known as Cp Trading International.
The county US Asia Global Inc. operates in is listed as Rockland County. When the business was first registered with the Department of State in February of 2011, the address provided at the time was PO Box 823, Monsey, NY 10952 with the filing number: 110218000346
On April 15th, 2021, US Asia Global Inc filed a certificate of change with the Department of State.
It’s not clear yet what that change was for. According to the Department of State:
A domestic limited liability company may change its Articles of Organization from time to time to (1) change the name and address of its designated address for the New York Secretary of State to mail service of process, (2) change its county location or (3) make, revoke or change the designation of a registered agent by filing a Certificate of Change pursuant to Section 211-A of the New York State Limited Liability Company Law.
On September 2nd, 2021, PO BOX 823 in Monsey was also registered to 50 Glen Realty. (DOS ID 6273424.)
The head office for US Asia Global Inc is located at 1000 Jefferson Avenue in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The company imports items from China for wholesale distribution, with at least 67 shipments received.
The last publicly identifiable shipment was in August of 2014 from Jinhua Shunhua Commodity Co., Ltd, located at 368, Heyuan South Road, Xiaoshun Town, Jinhua, Zhejiang, China. Jinhua is the company most frequently associated with Us Asia Globa Inc. in terms of shipping.
The address of 1449 37th Street, Suite #612, in Brooklyn, New York is also used for Oak Wood Subdivision LLC, with the listed phone number of David@fwcnyc.com and 917-848-5568. This phone number and email was provided to the Town of Chester. An additional number, 347-234-8069 was provided on the Short Environmental Assessment form submitted to the Town of Chester.
The phone number is a wireless Verizon phone. In multiple reverse phone searches, including via BeenVerified, this number traces back to a Burech Berkowitz, but that could be incorrect data. A search on True People Search indicates that the phone number belongs to Abraham A. Berkovic.
So of course, I texted, called, and emailed. Emails and phone calls were not returned as of press time.
No website exists for FWCNYC.com. The domain is privately registered using GoDaddy’s Domains by Proxy service. The domain was created on May 25th, 2014, just two months before the last publicly identifiable shipment was made from Jinhua Shunhua Commodity Co.
No website exists for Berkgc.com either. The email Abe@BerkGC.com was also provided to the Town of Chester.
Like FWCNYC.com, this domain is privately registered with no identifying details provided other than the domain creation date of July 2020.
BeenVerified reports that the email may belong to an Abraham A. Berkovic, but I haven’t independently confirmed that yet.
Emails to this address have not been returned as of press time.
Meanwhile, In Chester …
According to the Department of State, Oakwood Subdivision LLC uses a different suite number from the one provided to the Town of Chester.
The Town of Chester was given the address of 1449 37th Street, Suite #612, in Brooklyn, New York.
The department of State has the same address, but with SUITE 342 instead of 612. The DOS ID for Oakwood Subdivision LLC is 6640191 and the LLC was created on November 10th, 2022.
I’m not sure why the State Department has a different address than the one provided to the Town of Chester.
Finally, according to New York City’s Department of Finance, 1449 37th Street is owned by 15 & 30 Westminster Road Realty Co. LLC. with an address provided as 30 Westminster Road, Apartment 45, in Brooklyn.
The owner of 30 West Minster is listed as Moe Greenzweig (landlord), Juda Stern (agent), and 15 & 30 Westminster Road Realty Co. There was a lawsuit between 15 & 30 Westminster Road and New York City which confirms the LLC’s ownership of this building.
What Do They Want To Build?
Oak Wood Subdivision is a proposed six lot subdivision “directly south of the intersection Camp Monroe Road and Pickrel Road on the southerly side of Camp Monroe Road.”
After HIGHVIEW PROPERTIES D.H.F. INC. — aka Helmer Cronin Construction Inc. — lost in court against the Town of Monroe in June of 2022, John Sorrentino, owner of Meadow Hills LLC, sold the Monroe and Chester parcels of his property each for $422,500 in December of 2022.
This sale took place less than a month after Oak Wood Subdivision LLC was created by Mr. David Breier.
The Monroe portion of Mr. Sorrentino’s land was sold to Meadow Hills Subdivision LLC, which we’ll get to in a future post.
Mr. David Breier signed a form with the Town of Chester authorizing MNTM Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. (C/o Lawrence Marshall) to appear on his behalf. The number for MNTM is listed as 845-744-3620 and the email provided to the Town Planning Board is lmarshall@mtnm.co. Emails sent to this address were bounced.
Four months after US Asia Global Inc. filed a change with the State Department, in August of 2021, a complaint was filed by Fredericka E. Taylor against David Breier and Yeshiva Birchas Moshe Inc. for a breach of commercial contract. In the complaint, Mr. Breier provided to Ulster County his place of residence as 1449 37th Street, Suite #612, in Brooklyn, New York.
This, of course, is not possible, since that address appears to belong to an office building.
Mr. Breier’s role, according to court filings, was to act as a middle man to help facilitate a real estate deal.
There are 8 such publicly identifiable real estate transactions like this, according to RealtyHop, conducted by a Mr. David Breier. Although for the record, I can’t say that this is the same David Breier that we’re discussing here in today’s post. Further investigation will be required.
On November 24th 2021, according to New York City’s Office of the City Register, David Breier took out a mortgage of $1,053,000.00 on 1220 44TH STREET. The mortgage was paid in full less than a month later on 12/10/21 to SANTANDER BANK NA.
651 Lakes LLC
Less than a mile from the proposed Henry Farms Development site is 649 Lakes Road.
649 Lakes Road currently has an application before The Town of Monroe to use the property for short term rentals.
651 Lakes LLC owns 649 Lakes Road in Monroe. Their corporate address is listed with Orange County as 651 Lakes Rd, Monroe NY 10950.
However, the Department of State has a different address provided as: 1166 44TH ST., BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, 11219
This building does NOT appear to be registered properly with New York City according to the Who Owns What database.
On the short term rental application submitted to the Town of Monroe, the rental manager is listed as Joseph Breier (note the last name.)
A Joseph Breier is listed as having lived at 1220 44th Street in Brooklyn, which is a building owned by David Breier according to BeenVerified and the Office of the City Register:
.
In a letter to Town of Monroe Building Inspector, Ben Maldonado, Lakes Road residents George and Bonnie Matossian stated their opposition to the short term rental application submitted to the Town of Monroe. The letter was received by Mr. Maldonado on August 18th, 2023.
For whatever reason, some of these letters were not shared — Well, according to Supervisor Cardone anyway — with the Town Board prior to the Town meeting on February 5th, 2024.
Supervisor Cardone did receive the letter from Mr. and Mrs. Matossian on August 18th according to documents provided by the Town of Monroe.
In this letter, The Matossian’s pointed out several flaws in Monroe’s Short Term Rental rules. Among them was, “There is no indication that the Town Clerk or Building Department has or will verify that the manager of the short-term rental is the permitholder or a permitted designee.”
Then, a familiar name pops up:
“The company registered to do business at the address listed in the permit is a wholesale retail goods company called US Asia Global Inc. There are a variety of corporate entities registered to this address. This request for a short-term rental permit is a commercial endeavor by a set of corporations to increase the value of a real estate portfolio by seeing how easily the Town of Monroe will grant short-term rental permits with the obvious objective of buying more properties to convert into commercial sources of revenue. This is not the corporate, commercial quality we want for our residential town. “ [Emphasis Added]
Another letter, also received on August 18th, 2023 by Mr. Maldonado, was sent by Thelma Walters and Tony Seitzer. They stated:
“This is a residential neighborhood and the permitted use is a business endeavor by a commercial company, not an individual homeowner.”
On August 15th, Mr. Ramon Carrion wrote to Mr. Maldonado about his concerns. In the letter, he states:
“Per Town of Monroe Building Department, several municipal searches were conducted in 2022, I believe. Unless I'm mistaken, it is my understanding, municipal searches are completed when there is an intent for a transfer of sale. According to the Orange County Town Clerk's Office and the Town of Monroe's Town Clerk's Office, there is no recorded deed at either office.
On the Short-Term Rental Application, Joseph Breier is indicated as the Rental Manager. Is Joseph Breier representing the owners of the proposed property or is he the new owner? Also, if this Short-Term Rental Application were to be approved, in the event of an emergency, the phone number provided on the application is a Google Voice number and not a wireless number attached to a physical wireless phone which also poses a question if the email address provided is also valid?” [Emphasis Added]
I have not yet reviewed the Short-Term Rental Application.
It was not provided to me as part of the FOIL request despite asking for all of the documents sent in by Mr. Carrion to Mr. Maldonado.
In an email to Mr. Maldonado received on October 28th, Mr. Ramon Carrion and Yolanda Carrion pointed out changes that were made to the home’s electrical system, as well as other things that were done out of compliance with Monroe’s local law in terms of proper notification of residents surrounding the property. The results of which have left unsafe conditions on the property according to Mrs. Carrion.
Mrs. Carrion’s email also states, “As a point of fact, in reference to Chapter 40-8 Procedure for First Permit Issuance, there are 10 confirmed Short Term Rentals within one square mile of proposed STR at 649 Lakes Road (Short Term Rental Advertisements attached). “
One of those properties is 110 School Road, which is already the subject of complaints.
110 School Road is also less than a mile from the proposed Henry Farms development site. In fact, according to Mr. Carrion’s statements at the Monroe Town Board meeting in February, there are 17 short term rentals.
I am currently working to identify the owners of the 110 School Road property.
So, What’s The Deal?
I still need to review the short term rental document filed with the Town of Monroe; however, there’s not enough time between when you read this and the next Town of Monroe Board meeting on March 4th at 7pm.
My recommendation is for you to go in person to the Town Board meeting and request that the Town Board deny the Short Term Rental Application for 649 Lakes Road. If you can’t readily identify the owner, it’s a safety hazard for both renters and neighbors.
I would normally suggest you send in a public comment via email; however, Mr. Cardone has demonstrated editorial control over the public comments submitted by email, and has dismissed / not responded to others sent in.
So, if you want to be heard, you have to go in person to a Monroe Town Board meeting.
If it turns out that Mr. Joseph Breier and Mr. David Breier are working together, then it is worth further investigating why a company that — used to? — imports products from China wants to surround the proposed site of Henry Farms with homes and short term rentals.
And why that effort has picked up in light of the stalled Henry Farms development.
Unfortunately, the work doesn’t stop there.
Because on March 6th at 7pm, the Town of Chester Planning Board will hear from representatives of Oak Woods Subdivision LLC. And I believe the same questions should be asked at the Chester Town Planning Board, requesting that any movement on the project be held until the identity of the proposed owner can be verified, and that they can speak to their intentions concerning the property and the rentals surrounding it.
This isn’t about opposition. This is about transparency and understanding. Something we can’t have when we’re looking under one LLC to find others underneath.
As Teddy Roosevelt once said in a speech given in Osawatomie, Kansas, in 1912:
“The citizens of the United States must effectively control the mighty commercial forces which they have called into being,” […] “[t]here can be no effective control of corporations while their political activity remains…. We must have complete and effective publicity of corporate affairs, so that the people may know…whether the corporations obey the law and whether their management entitles them to the confidence of the public.
