Convicted Felon Timothy J. Mitts Folds Like a House of Cards
Like any bully, Mr. Tim Mitts ran when the slightest hint of consequences came his way.
This is a brief update to yesterday’s story. I suspect I’ll be busy with Woodbury news this weekend, and we won’t have time to address this otherwise.
Where last I left you, former New York State Conservative Party candidate for the New York State 42nd Senate District — and convicted felon — Timothy J. Mitts, was saying stuff like this:
I want to draw your attention to that line where he says, “In fact, when I started opinionating against him. He blocked me from responding to correct the record.”
You don’t need me to tell you Mr. Mitts has a problem telling the truth. But it’s worth issuing a reminder because he is running to be on Monroe’s Town Board.
I am adding up all the money Mitts has ever owed people, dating back to the early ‘90s. I’m up to tens of thousands of dollars, and I’m barely 50 pages into a document that’s nearly 200 pages in length.
In an upcoming post, I will share the total amount various people, agencies, and other parties have tried to collect on Mr. Mitts. It. Is. Extensive.
Given the financial blackhole the Town of Monroe is now in, residents will have to consider whether or not to elect a man incapable of honestly and transparently managing his finances, let alone yours.
For now, I want to direct your attention to an exchange with Mr. Mitts today:
Here’s The Latest:
At about 11 am EST, I decided to go to Mr. Timothy J. Mitts’s campaign Facebook Page and address the weird shit being posted there. Fifteen minutes later, I was blocked by Mr. Mitts.
So, what was I responding to?
First, you had Mr. Chris Maderia — mayoral candidate and alleged savior of South Blooming Grove — chirping, and that’s fine. All you need to know about Mr. Chris Maderia is that he and I are both currently suing South Blooming Grove. But only one of us is asking for a multimillion-dollar payday from their lawsuit, and it’s not me.
Then you had Mrs. Teresa Schaeffer, and we already addressed that I intend to take Mrs. Schaeffer — and potentially Wayne Corts if he’s behind her posts — to court. (Mrs. Schaeffer has since deleted her comments, but don’t worry, friends; we preserved them all.)
Then you have this weird anti-semitic shit from JJ Westerveld. Allegedly, not his real name, by the way. It’s Jay Wright. Allegedly. You see, the thing with Mr. Westerveld / Mr. Wright / Whatever the name of his sock puppet is this week — much like Mr. Mitts — is that very little of what he says is true. So we’ll get to the bottom of who he really is, much like on any good episode of Scooby Doo.
Like Mrs. Teresa Schaeffer, I will be taking legal action against Mr. Jay Wright / Jay Westerveld / JJ Westerveld / Mr. Whatever.
I am sharing Jay Westerveld’s comment here with you because it’s the start, but not the end, of an upcoming story involving him, his fake organizations, his exaggerated teaching credentials, and the legacy of environmental damage his family left behind here in Southern Orange County. (His grandfather is James Mari. If you don’t know who that is right now. Don’t worry. You will.)
I’ve also asked Jean Straus at Straus News (The Photo-News, The Warwick Advertiser, The Chronicle, etc.) why Straus News continues to provide Mr. Westerveld with a platform. Mr. Wright / Mr. Westerveld FREQUENTLY contributes to the three papers under his alleged name of Jay Westerveld. This is something to remember when Straus News asks you for money to support local journalism and to hold public officials accountable.
So. Let’s leave aside Mr. Wright’s / Mr. Westerveld’s antisemitic conspiracy theory for right now and keep on Mr. Tim Mitts.
For months, Mr. Mitts has ranted and ranted, and ranted that I blocked him on Facebook because he “dared” to share his opinion with me.
This post is proof that Mr. Timothy Mitts was, once again, caught defrauding Southern Orange County Residents:
Dear Mr. Mitts,
Before 11:30am, I went on your Public Facebook Page — which you are using for your candidacy for the Monroe Town Board — to address the virulent and defamatory anti-semitic ramblings you've allowed to run on your page.
In less than 15 minutes, I was blocked by you.
So, I know you've been running your mouth that I've blocked you, but now we know that's not the case. That brings me to two follow-up questions you have the opportunity to respond to:
1. Do you agree with the virulent, anti-semitic, and defamatory statements shared by Jay Westerveld and Teresa Schaffer about myself and The Monroe Gazette? (See above screenshots.)
2. If elected, do you plan on unblocking me as a town board member? I hope you know that it's illegal for Public Officials to block their constituents.
Is this the kind of treatment members of the Town of Monroe can expect whenever they have questions you don't like?
3. Bonus question: I have an 186-page document containing the list of everyone you have ever owed money to, going back to the 1990s. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars.
How can you ask Town of Monroe residents to trust you with handling their finances when there are nearly 200 pages and tens of thousands of dollars to suggest you can't even handle your own?
Funny how all that tough talk stopped, isn't it?
How do you think Mr. Mitts responded? I mean, this guy, for months, has been telling people about how brave he is. How he stood up to “the weasel” and got blocked. Surely, he’d show the kind of courage and stamina Monroe residents expect of a candidate who will have a very difficult job if elected.
Right?
Nope.
“Please do not contact me any further as I have blocked you every way possible. You seem to have a capacity of wanting to pursue me. You enjoy. Have a good day!”
First he was saying I blocked him and didn’t want to hear from him. 15 minutes later, “You seem to have a capacity of wanting to pursue me.”
How can I pursue someone who claims to be blocked?
Also, will that sentence fit on his campaign bumper sticker? Because I’d like to buy one:
Mitts 2025: You Seem To Have A Capacity of Wanting to Pursue Me.
Listen, I am sharing this with you for a reason: The Monroe Gazette wasn’t supposed to exist past August 2024. So, for months, I’ve been — I think — pretty chill with some of this crazy nonsense being put out there.
Now, we’re heading toward our first birthday at the end of February. This is starting to become a business.
I will never go looking for a fight. Never. I’m a pacifist. I want to be collaborative and work with everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are. What your political party is. What God you pray to, if you pray to a God at all. Everyone is welcome here.
The people I write about? I only write about them after they fail our test: 1. Are they behaving poorly? 2. Are they a public figure? 3. Are they unresponsive to good-faith questions and criticisms by their constituents concerning their behavior?
If the answer is no to any of those questions? I’m not going to bother you 99% of the time.
But I will defend myself. I will defend what we’re building here because we’re already doing a lot of good for this community.
Ask Woodbury residents how their most recent Village election turned out, and ask yourself, “How different would this have been without The Monroe Gazette?”
Ask yourself how different your conception of South Blooming Grove would be without The Monroe Gazette? Did you know they were paying over a million dollars for trucked-in water in violation of the Orange County Department of Health? Did you know there was a federal EPA investigation underway into their municipal water infrastructure?
How about Clovewood? You don’t see much Clovewood coverage in the pages of The Times-Herald Record and the Straus News newspapers, do you?
That’s what real, independent, local journalism looks like.
So, you can throw $100 toward Straus News. They make way more than that each month in advertising and give a platform to people like Jay Westerveld / Jay Wright.
Or you can become a monthly subscriber for $10 a month using the link below:
You Do Rub Ointment? The John N. Allegro Story
I will return this weekend with a longer post. We’re going to talk about noted bigot John N. Allegro, the father of Palm Tree and former United Monroe Executive Committee member.
Why do we call John N. Allegro a bigot?
Well, when he ran for New York State Assembly in 2016. During the campaign, he posted this “hilarious” video where he sexually harassed a telemarketer. He also used his super cool “Let’s make fun of Asians” voice that a lot of entitled, gross, aging white guys use.
“What a cool guy! I’d vote for him as my Assemblyman,” said virtually nobody.
Allegro dropped out of the race. In the way all entitled white guys do, he didn’t take responsibility. He cited “Voter apathy.” Specifically, Allegro said to the Times Herald-Record, “Voter apathy is an epidemic. United Monroe has been working on the antidote for that for the past four years but there is more work to do."
Mr. Allegro later sold his home and moved to Florida. There is no harm in moving out of the area. You do you.
But despite living in Florida, Allegro continues to opine whenever his friend Tony Cardone gets called out. Including just this week:
Here’s a fun fact: Every single time anything bad for Tony Cardone gains traction, you can count on John N. Allegro to leave comments like this on Facebook. You can set your watch to it.
I promise you that between now and the election in November, you’ll see John N. Allegro doing a lot of spin for Tax Hike Tony.
So, here’s a reminder for every Monroe resident: Without John N. Allegro’s United Monroe, there is no Tony Cardone. Here’s the proof.
Where did all that power for the people go? Into the hands of Tony Cardone.
And yes, of course, we are going to be talking about Tax Hike Tony’s $186,000 a year salary real soon.
That will be part of our upcoming series on the current Town of Monroe budget, and all the line items that Cardone uses to cash in.
